The humpback whales begin to arrive in mid-to-late December where they remain in the bay and outer islands for about 4 months. During this time the females give birth, and the
new calves can be seen playing and learning what their mothers teach them.
During this same time, the other females are frolicking in the bay and putting on a fantastic show to attract the males for mating ...the results of which are next years new calves.
The Humpbacks begin their migration back to Alaska about mid March or sooner. These gigantic sea mammals are a spectacular sight to see ...especially when you stop to consider that these air breathing animals spend their whole lives in the sea.
On your Brier Patch Sailing Adventure, you will visit many ports and sites along the Mexican coastline.
